Our main services are:
Product development.
We take a product's design from idea to manufacture (or a part of this process) through a systematic evolution/development process. This helps to ensure the requirements are met and the product performs in use.
Mechanical Engineering.
In theory, any product that physically does something and/or moves, has a mechanical aspect to it and we can probably assist in its design. Our mechanical engineering knowledge and experience are used to fully exploit our customers ideas into commercial reality. To achieve this efficiently, we use computer aided engineering (CAE) and 3D computer aided design (CAD) tools. These allow us to explore many possibilities and optimise design and design for manufacture. We are well versed in most production processes, have a comprehensive supplier database and regularly work specialist suppliers. Combining all these assets with the latest design tools as an integral part of a project, help ensure success.
Engineering Product Design.
We use this like a form of "design adhesive" to join all the elements required to create a product including art, science and technology. Certain custom components may be designed such as plastic injection mouldings, diecastings or machined parts, while standard parts are specified and purchased. Engineering product design taps into many disciplines and pulls them together. These may include ergonomics or the man-machine interface, design for manufacture, aesthetics, and elements of mechanical engineering etc.
Industrial Design.
People relate to the man-machine interface via a products' aesthetics and tactile qualities. Quality of life is improved by having products that not only work and do their job well but are also good to look at and touch. Industrial design merges engineering and art to the mutual benefit of user and manufacturer. This is one of the more obviously artistically creative areas of design and one a wide audience can relate to - it is also where art meets engineering. The customer gets to see the result of this graphically throughout a project. It starts with a design study where not only the aesthetics are explored, but how the design works as a whole. We work with our customers to execute design solutions towards problems of form, usability, user ergonomics, engineering, marketing, brand development and sales.
Electronics Design.
Many products we design are electro-mechanical so the electronics design is an integral part of development and evolves with the product. Digital/analogue electronics and specialist areas such as RF (Radio Frequency) design are available - particularly popular for wireless/ WiFi products and applications. We use CAD (computer aided design) software that interfaces with ECAD (electronic computer aided design). This can be bi-directional in that CAD can create and read ECAD data and vice versa. As most ECAD systems can generate 3D PCB assembly output, this is vital for design checking. This also allows 3D data to be checked throughout a project, problems are identified early so development and manufacture continue smoothly.

We also have expertise in many manufacturing and production processes with regular supplier contact within these industries in the UK, Europe and Asia.
